Rules of Hollywood

A series of advice columns by someone (with collaborations with others in the industry) who has worked and lived in Hollywood for years. Much of what I share are anecdotal, but there are good rules of thumbs and things I wish I knew before coming to Los Angeles myself.  I figure that, perhaps, others might be interested in knowing, learning and maybe laughing in the process.

Rule #1

Don't Believe the Hype and Glamor

Rule #2

So You Want to Be a Screenwriter (Part 1 and Part 2)

Rule #3

Never Assume You Know More Than the Other Guy (Because the Other Guy Probably Doesn't Care)

Rule #4

Know the Limits on Being an Asshole

Rule #5

How to Get Your Foot in the Door Without Getting it Crushed (Part 1 and Part 2)

Rule #6

Buy a Car

Rule #7

Sell the Person, not the Product

Rule #8

Warning: Watch Out for Conmen (One Last Warning)

Rule #9

It's Not What You Know, It's Who You Know

Rule #10

Avoid Hollywood Temptations

Rule #11

You're Probably Being Used
