i09: 24 More Weird and Wonderful Movies You'll Never See

Another dip into the history of film from i09. It's no surprise most of these are from an era where 90% of the films are lost completely. At least we know about them, even if we may never see them.

Pictures that Perfectly Capture the 90s

Awesome collection of nostalgia here. Surfwear, anyone? And you know Fresh Prince has to be in there.

I mean, just look at this:

That happened, folks. It makes you wonder what people will think of when they look back on our time 15 years from now. Is there an Apple Lion DVD guide starring the cast of Two and a Half Men?

Dorkly: Limbo with a Flashlight

A great play on the concept of the game Limbo. And a great twist at the end. Really one of Dorkly's best done videos and I love how their animation recaptures the game perfectly.

Cracked: 5 Actors that Do the Same Thing in Every Movie

Some of these you probably never noticed, others you probably did. Either way, a clever little article, the Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt entries my favorites.

Cracked: Six Insane Sequels That Almost Ruined Classic Movies

#1 so Deserves it. I don't know if it's entirely accurate, though, but we can dream can't we?

Cracked: Five Amazing Performances from Actors Who Weren't Acting

And last Cracked article, I promise. Really a great look at how some directors look to capture authenticity, because you have to be authentic in some scenes and any "acting" just wouldn't work. Alien is my most notable on this, and the Exorcist stories are a laundry-list of horrible things to do to actors, but you know what? It worked.

The Daly Show: Superheroes

No, not that Daly Show, the Daly show. It's a lot of fun to see nerdy grown men acting like children.

Film School Rejects: 10 of the Most Appetizing Scenes in Movies

om nom nom nom. Eat up. Groundhog Day just makes me smile every time, but in particular this scene (and the scene of him proving he's a god).

Addicted to the Artist

A great piece of parody here. It's a man living in a silent film, only with the twist that A&E's "intervention" is doing a show on him. Pretty brilliant stuff.

New Hobbit Production Diary

Of course I'm posting this again.

Jaaam (The French Prince Remix)

Jaaam…just jaaam. A nice little remix of classic Fresh Prince sounds into a song. The video really makes it, though. Really relived some memories here. This show is one of the handful I would say really defined the 1990s (others being Seinfeld, Friends, ER, NYPD Blue and, I don't know, Simpsons or something. But as far as pop-culture and stylistically defining a decade, hard to not say Fresh Prince). It's all about the dancing. I love how it just kind of ends.

LA Weekly Blog: Oscars Food/Drink

People in LA sure love to pat themselves on the back and assure we're all better than everyone else and everything is about us.

That bit off my chest, here's a list of places in LA that relate to this year's best picture nominees. I've been to a few, and I'm sorry I don't understand why The Edison is #10 because if there's any place that embodies the film it's compared to, it's that one. Surprised they didn't go with Pink's for the hot dogs, but Vicious Dogs is pretty awesome (and a little more bang for your buck). Never even heard of the #1 on the list, but I might have to check it out now. It sounds a bit pricey, though.

Inner Steppe

Hey, like creepy yet cool looking stop-motion animation. Well here you go.

Eight Animal Misconceptions

A late entry, but I really like how this video flows, I like the narration and it's actually a little funny too.
