Trailing trailers #116

Beyond the Black Rainbow

Trailer

I put up a trailer for this a long while ago, but this one is different and even cooler.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

Trailer

Absolutely yes. This just looks brilliant to me. There's not a whole lot of universal-appeal in romantic comedies. Usually they're made for women and tend to pander to them, secretly insulting them yet they still give it money. Every once in a while, though, you'll get a Sleepless in Seattle or When Harry Met Salley or, even more recently, a 40 Year Old Virgin that everybody loves and it's "female driven" or even "male driven" … it's just well done. This one looks like that.

Brake

Trailer

I hate doing this…but didn't we jUST get a movie like this? Now it's given an extra dose of "intensity" and, I don't know

7500

Trailer

Awww yeah, love me some horror. Love me some claustrophobic plane thrillers. Really love Takashi Shimzu as a director. Pardon the awful pun, but I'm on board despite the fact the trailer doesn't really give us much.

Christ, I should shoot myself for that joke.

The Snowtown Murders

Trailer

Australia is really putting out some great movies. I mean, they always have, but there's almost this youth renaissance going on right now. Like Animal Kingdom, this one just looks intense. I won't just up and down in excitement, though. I was kind of burned by Cold Weather last year.

Again with the jokes. It's like I'm in bad pun mode today.

Oh, and I liked Cold Weather, it's a good flick for sure and was about what I hoped it would be, but the trailer was better than the movie.

Resident Evil Retribution

Trailer

You know, I just don't care anymore. None of these have been particularly good, it's the same thing over and over again, it's old and tired and just bland now. The entire franchise has been in the wrong hands since day one because, I'm sorry, Paul WS Anderson just isn't a good director and the over-reliance on cheap thrills and his wife Milla (who I think is just being utterly wasted) is just annoying.
